Maniapoto Economic Summit

Te Aratahi, the Maniapoto Maori Business Network is hosting the second Maniapoto Economic Summit on the 2nd and 3rd of December 2004 at the Waitomo Caves Hotel, Waitomo.

The Summit will provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs, business people, Tribal and Land Based Trusts and Incorporations, corporate businesses and Government agencies to come together and develop key priorities for Ngati Maniapoto economic development and prosperity for the next 10 years. The Summit will provide a regional platform for the national Hui Taumata, Maori Economic Summit that will be hosted by the Government in Wellington in March 2005.

Confirmed keynote speakers for the Maniapoto Economic Summit to date include Hon Parekura Horomia, Gerry Brownlee and Sir Paul Reeves, (Convenor of Hui Taumata 2005).

The Summit is expecting up to 120 attendees including key businesses and Maori Organisations from outside the Maniapoto tribal region. The focus of the Maniapoto Summit will be to identify the opportunities and barriers to economic development within Ngati Maniapoto and to set some priorities for the future.

As numbers are limited registration is essential. A registration form is available on our website www.kawaultd.com and the agenda will follow once finalised.
