“Von Dutch” Overtakes “Playboy” in Search Stakes
“Von Dutch” Overtakes “Playboy” As NZ’s Most Wanted Item
Kiwis are racing to join the Von Dutch craze, making the fashion label the most searched-for consumer item on New Zealand’s largest online market, Trade Me.
Interest in the celebrity-favoured clothing and accessories has risen sharply, nearly doubling the number of searches from 18,647 in September to 31,554 in October. Other fashion and lifestyle searches, like “sunglasses” and “Tupperware,” feature heavily in the top 20 as warmer weather and longer days turn thoughts to summer wardrobes and leisure activities.
The full list of the top 20 search items for October is listed below.
The latest Neilsen//NetRatings figures show Trade Me had over 1 million unique NZ visitors in October. It has over 760,000 New Zealand members and last week won the Deloitte Fast 50 award for the fastest growing company.
