International Gold Medal For Pisa Range Estate
Pisa Range Estate of Central Otago continues to add to its collection of international awards for their fine pinot noir. Following the Cool Climate Trophy success for the 2001 vintage in Australia earlier this year, its latest release the 2003 Pisa Range Estate “Black Poplar Block” Pinot Noir has been awarded a GOLD MEDAL at the Wine Style Asia Awards 2004 “Pret-a-Boire” held in Singapore last week. This was the only GOLD MEDAL to be awarded in the Pinot Noir/Rose category.
Wine Style Asia 2004 attracted participants from 18 wine producing countries across the globe and focused on showcasing food friendly wines to a broad regional Asian audience. Leading wine writers from Germany, Australia, Japan, India, Malaysia and Singapore attended this event.
“Currently we export to UK, Australia, Canada and Denmark. We are very pleased to receive this recognition in an international competition that focuses on the Asian market ” said Warwick Hawker, Director of Pisa Range Estate. “We believe our 2003 vintage has produced an elegant wine that is particularly food friendly. This Gold Medal award would appear to endorse that view”.
