Christmas May Come Early For A Powerball Player
"Lotto Powerball has jackpotted to $5 million, just in time for an early Christmas bonus," said Trevor Hall, Chief Executive of New Zealand Lotteries Commission.
"With only two weeks to go, anyone who wins this weekend's Powerball jackpot will feel as if 'all their Christmases have come at once' and they'd be right," he said.
"It will be an incredible Christmas present, if it's struck this weekend."
The jackpot, the first to go to $5 million in six months, adds an exciting mix to the festive season for Lotto players.
"Our (Powerball) players play the game because they enjoy the thrill of the unexpected and the big prizes the game offers," said Mr Hall.
"With our 'Biggest Christmas at Lotto Ever' promotion, the bonus mid-week draws on December 15 & 22 and Powerball on a jackpot run, we have something for all players."
This Saturday night's draw will also see an excited Hamilton player spinning the Winning Wheel on behalf of his wife. Last weekend's Winning Wheel player, 21-year-old Emma Winstanley from Albany, won $50,000 cash.
