Fieldays gets a financial boost

The green, green brand of Fieldays just got greener with an announcement today that The National Bank will join Telecom in a Fieldays “strategic partnership”.

The National Bank will assume the role of co-sponsoring the Fieldays event with Telecom New Zealand.

General Manager Rural Banking for The National Bank of New Zealand Charlie Graham said the bank is thrilled to be more closely involved and be in a position to contribute to Fieldays’ success.

“The bank is closely aligned with rural New Zealand and our involvement in Fieldays is very important, as it enables us to actively demonstrate our commitment to this sector," Mr Graham said.

“The National Bank of New Zealand has always worked alongside and supported our rural customers to find new and innovative ways to enhance and improve their business. Fieldays is an opportunity to reinforce this commitment.”

There will be a National Bank branch and ATM on-site during Fieldays for the convenience of visitors. Mr Graham said rural experts in the National Bank building, next to the Village Green, will welcome visitors with a cup of coffee and provide a comfortable place to discuss all aspects of their banking and financial requirements.

“We are looking forward to strengthening our relationships with Fieldays and the rural community.”

New Zealand National Fieldays Society President Rod Bryant said Fieldays is very pleased to welcome The National Bank on board leading up to the next event, 15-18 June 2005.

Mr Bryant said the bank's introduction to the Fieldays family of sponsors was also timely for the 2005 Fieldays premier feature – People on Farms, Managing Your Workplace.

“I think the partnership is very important for both parties – it gives Fieldays a greater opportunity to profile the event which we would find very difficult without the support of our strategic partners,” Mr Bryant said.

Telecom joined Fieldays in 2003 as a strategic partner, with the vision of developing “Virtual Fieldays” an online community for rural customers, which is on track for completion in 2006. Virtual Fieldays can be viewed online at www.fieldays.co.nz
