New Vessel “Tiger V” Commences Service

24 December 2004

Fullers Bay Of Islands New Vessel “Tiger V” Commences Service

Following the very sad loss of the Tiger III vessel in an incident off Cape Brett six days ago, Kit Nixon CEO of Fullers Bay of Islands is pleased to announce the arrival of a new replacement vessel Tiger V to join the Fullers Bay of Islands fleet on the 28th December.

The Tiger V is a brand new, state of the art vessel having been first registered on the 29th November this year in Bluff. It is a 22 metre Sabre Catamaran built this year in Australia. The vessel is currently certificated to carry 160 passengers but following some minor modifications it is planned to increase the comfortable passenger operating load to over 200, giving a similar balance of indoor/outdoor seating as experienced on Tiger III.

“Our ability to acquire and have Tiger V up and running so quickly has allowed us to return back to full operating capacity for the current summer holiday season and meet in full our obligations to our customers” said Mr. Nixon.

He added that “It is also a great boost to the team at Fullers after a very difficult time with Tiger III. With the delivery of a brand new vessel everyone’s back in action, recharged and looking forward to a great year in 2005”.
