Gilpin Travel Improves Customer Service

Gilpin Travel Improves Customer Service with UATP Settlement Services

Gilpin Travel, an Auckland-based travel agency, will utilize UATP to enhance customer service and lower its distribution costs by settling all UATP transactions through UATP Settlement Services (USS), a low-cost, weekly settlement system commercially launched by UATP in New Zealand in 2004. USS is also used by travel agencies and non-clearing house airlines to process UATP transactions for payment.

As a UATP Merchant, Gilpin will use USS specifically to track all service fees, net fares, and airfares charged on their clients' UATP account. Gilpin will receive detailed data from UATP's Acquirer Network that itemizes each element charged to a customer's UATP account. This valuable business information can be passed back to Gilpin's corporate customers for accurate reconciliation of service fees and expenses.

"Through UATP, our corporate clients are able to enjoy statements and reports that clearly itemize each element charged to a UATP account," said Keith Sumner, Owner and Director of Gilpin Travel. "UATP allows Gilpin to continue its excellent customer service while also lowering Gilpin's distribution costs through low merchant service fees."

Gilpin Travel has serviced the Auckland business market since 1984, offering value-added solutions for seamless business travel. Not only is Gilpin Travel accredited with Agents Association of New Zealand (TAANZ) and IATA, it is a member of Biz Trav- a collection of corporate agents across New Zealand who cooperatively work together to share buying power and expertise.
