Pyne Gould Guinness' real estate head appointed
Pyne Gould Guinness Limited (PGG), the South Island's largest rural servicing company, has appointed Peter Crean as Company Real Estate Manager.
The Real Estate division, which has branches throughout the South Island and over 40 rural sales consultants, was previously jointly managed with the company's rural finance business. The appointment reflects the growth of the real estate business.
Mr Crean has extensive industry experience having managed PGG's Canterbury real estate team for the past three years. During his tenure, PGG has successfully secured sales for a number of high profile Canterbury properties including Mt Hutt Station, Sandhurst, Eskhead Station and Allandale.
Previously, Mr Crean had 21 years of experience for PGG initially as a livestock representative and then as a livestock manager. He spent some time in rural finance before moving to real estate.
Mr Crean said his focus in the new the role will be maintaining and growing the core farm sales business with an emphasis on the growing lifestyle market.
"It has become an attractive lifestyle choice, more people are seeking the quiet country life, and it now makes up a large percentage of all rural sales.
Pyne Gould Guinness has roots back to the earliest days of New Zealand settlement as a rural servicing company. It has 10 separate divisions including: farm supplies, seeds, insurance, wool, livestock, standardbred, velpool, irrigation & plumbing, finance, and real estate.
"These other divisions provide a network few other companies can match," Mr Crean said.
