Reading Cinemas The Palms Reaches One Million Customers

Christchurch’s Reading Cinemas complex in The Palms shopping centre welcomed its millionth customers last night [Tuesday February 8].

Reading Cinemas The Palms complex manager Ross Churchouse said Rafael Torrijos and Natalie Bracey from Rangiora took the total past one milion, winning themselves a Valentine’s weekend trip to Auckland, valued at $3500 and including limousine transfers, deluxe accommodation at the Hilton hotel and $1000 in spending money.

The prize package also includes double tickets to the Circle Lounge at the newly-opened Berkeley Cinemas complex in Botany Town Centre – the sister cinema to Reading Cinemas The Palms – with luxury recliner seating and complementary food and beverages.

Background: Reading Cinemas The Palms opened in September 2003 and usually averages 11,000 customers a week. Reading Cinemas The Palms is a joint venture between US-based Reading Cinemas and New Zealand private company Everard Entertainment, which also operates four complexes in Auckland – Botany Town Centre, Mission Bay, Takapuna and Whangaparaoa. Reading Cinemas The Palms recently won the Leisure category of the NZ Retail Interiors Association retail design awards.
