The TAB has announced a guaranteed pool of $1 million for the opening night of the Nufarm Inter Dominions on Friday 4 March.

The Inter Dominions are Harness Racing's biggest event of the year and the Million Dollar Pick6 will ensure that they get off to a flying start, says New Zealand Racing Board Racing Manager Michael Dore.

The opening night will feature the best pacers and trotters in Australasia racing in five Inter Dominion Heats with the aim of accumulating enough points to make the Grand Finals on the night of Friday 18 March.

”To win the million dollars, or a share of it, you have to pick the winners of the last six races at Alexandra Park. If no-one picks all six, then the dividend pool will jackpot through to Grand Final night,” Mr Dore says.

The Million Dollar Pick6 will go on sale on Thursday 3 March with the easiest way to play being to simply ask for an $8 Pick6 Easybet which gives a combination of horses in each leg.

Betting will be available at the track and through all TAB Outlets, Phonebet, Touchtone, SKYbet and on the net at www.tab.co.nz.

“The great thing about a pool like this is that even if you are knocked out, it’s still exciting to watch how many other punters are still live – especially if there are a few still in with a chance at the last race,” Mr Dore says. “It’s great entertainment.”
