Top Energy appoints business development specialist
Prashant Belwalkar has been appointed by electricity network company, Top Energy to the role of Business Development Manager.
Mr Belwalkar has an extensive background in information and communication technology, working in sales, marketing and business development here in New Zealand and in various overseas markets, including India. He also has experience working with community groups and government agencies.
According to Chief Executive, Roger de Bray, Top Energy saw a need to create this dedicated business development role, following work his company has done this year on its 20-year Strategic Plan for the region. The plan projects a 77% increase in accommodation unit demand (including households, holiday homes and tourist units) by the year 2026. It also identified gaps in the region’s resources, infrastructure and public facilities.
“Our goal is to expand the electricity network to meet this projected growth, as well as to identify and develop new business opportunities, which fit well with the Group’s resources, capabilities and our growth objectives. Prashant’s appointment will now help us focus on these opportunities and evaluate their strategic and investment potential”, Mr de Bray said.
