From today, professional people in New Zealand can seek expert specialist advice from a dedicated network set up by a leading New Zealand accountancy practice.

Staples Rodway has officially launched the Critical Point Network, an innovative service which provides specialist accountancy advice to other professionals in the financial services sector.

In a keynote speech businessman and jeweller, Michael Hill, spoke on behalf of the company, citing critical points in his own career and explaining the value of such a networking service.

Staples Rodway Managing Director Peter Guise, says the new advisory service will offer a comprehensive support and specialist advisory service for professionals in the financial services area.

"CPN is a means through which professional advisors such as lawyers, independent accountants and financial planners can seek specialist assistance from our team of experts," says Mr Guise.

Gareth Hoole, Staples Rodway Director of the Critical Point Network, is excited about the future of the service in New Zealand.

"We've recently enrolled 100 members into the network here in New Zealand but in Melbourne where our affiliate office, Pitcher Partners, first rolled out the programme they have secured more than 2000 members.

"We believe that the Critical Point Network will provide a number of professionals with an opportunity to expertly service their clients in a range of specialist fields, expanding their present service offerings.

"Staples Rodway is in the perfect position to offer such a service as it has a tremendous team of experts whose job it is to stay abreast of developments in their field, so that at all times they are able to provide the most current specialist advice available.

For instance, Staples Rodway has experts in areas such as the Sarbanes Oxley Act. This requires stricter auditing procedures for US affiliated businesses and businesses who deal with US companies following the demise of the Enron Corporation and Arthur Andersen.

Members will have access to matters of interest and relevance through attendance at periodic seminars and briefings, and through regular news bulletins from Staples Rodway. It also allows members to interact with their peers and other potential referrers such as bankers and financiers. Membership is free and costs will only be incurred when Staples Rodway is able to add value.

Following the official launch of the CPN today, each member will be visited to explain the professional services and protocols available.
