DTZ Expands Hotel and Hospitality Services

DTZ New Zealand has announced its acquisition of specialist real estate firm Hotel & Hospitality Brokers MREINZ (HHB).

“In line with our intention to provide a total property solution, with a special focus on niche markets, the acquisition of HHB is very significant,” says Ross Pickett, DTZ New Zealand CEO.

“For clients wanting to undertake any kind of property transaction in the tourism sector, DTZ now has a ‘full house’ of capability countrywide from agency through valuation and management. HHB brings an established reputation as a specialist in licensed premises, lodging property and hospitality related businesses in New Zealand and we are delighted to be able to add their considerable valuation and agency expertise to our suite of services. David Bower, who currently heads up HHB and who is probably the most experienced hotel valuer in the country, plus several colleagues will be joining DTZ as part of the agreement.”

“DTZ already has a substantial client base in the hospitality industry and a high profile in this sector in the South Island. The acquisition of HHB provides a direct presence in Auckland consolidating our nationwide offering. We intend to recruit and develop this niche over the coming months,” says Pickett.

“We are looking forward to the challenge,” says HHB’s David Bower. “With over 100 years collective experience in the licensed premises market in New Zealand, from small bar operations in the suburbs to major hotels in the city, HHB is ideally placed to provide DTZ with the expertise that will solidify its valuation and agency offering in this niche. Utilising factual evidence from the market, we have acted as valuers, real estate agents and property consultants for three decades for individual and corporate vendors, purchasers, lessors, lessees, lenders, solicitors and insurers connected with the licensed premises market throughout New Zealand.”
