High speed internet part of the hotel service

Wellington's James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor has joined the rush of major hotels offering high speed internet access to guests in all 260 hotel rooms and conference facilities.

According to hotel general manager, John Primmer, broadband or high speed internet access is now expected in international standard hotels worldwide.

"Guests now have the same superfast connections they have in their office and home environments. They can access their business email systems and also download music, TV shows and movies and work from their hotel rooms.

"All they have to do is plug the cable into the ethernet port or network card of their computer, turn the computer on, start up the internet web browser or internet explorer, and accept the terms and conditions of using the Getin2Net, a ReiverNet service.

"There is no need for guests to change internet or email settings - it is simple and fast," says John Primmer.

The hotel also offers a choice of two Wi-Fi (wireless) options in its public areas and restaurants.

ReiverNet is the largest provider of broadband services to hotels in New Zealand. It has an Auckland head office with a 24/7, 0800 helpdesk for its Getin2Net service. The company also supplies these services to major hotels in Australia.
