New head for Dexcel announced
Dr Tim Mackle is the new Chief Executive of Dexcel Ltd, the New Zealand dairy industry's on-farm research, development, extension and education organisation.
Dexcel Board Chairman Jim van der Poel said Dr Mackle brings with him a unique mix of business and science experience.
"Tim has an excellent understanding of the many aspects of the dairy industry, from the on-farm demands of New Zealand dairy farmers, through to the world of processing companies and commercial business.
"His proven leadership ability and strategic thinking are key attributes for Dexcel, and his extensive background in science and the dairy industry is a real bonus."
Currently the General Manager of Anchor Ethanol, Dr Mackle has a PhD in Animal, Food and Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University in New York, and spent several years as a milk characteristics scientist at the Dairying Research Corporation in Hamilton.
Dr Mackle moved to a position with the New Zealand Dairy Board as Commercial Strategist before taking up an Executive Assistant role to former Fonterra CEO, Craig Norgate.
He said he is looking forward to working with the team at Dexcel as well as the various stakeholders.
"To improve sustainable productivity, we have some big targets to achieve. A good platform has been laid that we can build on to achieve our potential and deliver for New Zealand dairy farmers".
Dr Mackle is married with three young children and will take up the position next month on 15 August.
