Appoints Head Of Operations
First Assistance, New Zealand’s leading provider of dedicated travel/medical, roadside, property, business and claims assistance has appointed Dr Anton van den Bergh to the role of Head of Operations.
Dr van den Bergh will be responsible for the overall management of operations, ensuring quality and effectiveness of services provided to clients of First Assistance. His role includes the ongoing development of staff and processes to meet strategic objectives.
Prior to his appointment, Dr van den Bergh was a Branch Medical Advisor for ACC and has also worked in the medical and general insurance industry.
As a GP, Dr van den Bergh has developed and on-sold successful medical practices in South Africa and New Zealand. In addition he has extensive corporate experience in senior management positions.
Dr van den Bergh completed his medical studies at the University of the Orange Free State and Pharmaceutical Studies at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. In New Zealand he completed a Diploma in Aviation Medicine from the University of Otago and a Certificate in Aviation (Helicopter) from Massey University, which qualified him as a commercial helicopter pilot.
