Diva celebrates B'loe Cup match with special tours

Sydney by Diva celebrates the Bledisloe Cup match with special tours

August 2005

Take an hilarious look at the harbour city through rosé-tinted glasses and support your team at this year’s Sydney All Blacks vs. Wallabies match on Saturday 13 August 05.

SYDNEY BY DIVA is a three-hour comedy tour around the city with a difference that has always been very popular with our New Zealand visitors; passengers travel in style with the hostess and guide being a well known Sydney professional drag queen. To celebrate the important Tri-Nations match, we announce two SYDNEY BY DIVA Rugby tours either side of the big day.

Friday 12 Aug 05 5pm – 8pm departs Museum of Contemporary Art, the Rocks in the city.

Sunday 14 Aug 05 5pm – 8pm departs as usual from The Oxford Hotel, 134 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst (right on Taylor Square)

Your next choice is an important one; travellers can go either FIRST Class or Economy Class The difference?

In First Class, you are up the front of your luxury coach near your gracious hostess, seated more comfortably with Sydney map cushions to follow your progress. You receive champagne in glasses upon boarding and all the way through the tour with smoked salmon canapés served to you by your cabin boy. Most importantly, you are NOT abused by the drag queen.
In Economy, we chuck you behind a curtain, with some cheap plonk in plastic, a box of cheezles to share thrown at you at half time. Drag queen abuse is guaranteed, but a lot of fun too!

The stops are entertaining, but the most fun is getting from A to B! Your drag queen hostess will inform and perform, along with some sing-a-longs (any Rugby songs?), interviews, gossip and even drag choreography lessons ready for a public performance later in the tour!

First stop is the Rocks and the Sydney Harbour Bridge followed by the Opera House, to learn about Sydney’s attractions and then travel through the eastern suburbs. Then heading west after a sing-along on board we visit the Imperial Hotel in Erskineville, well known as the home of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Here your hostess puts on a special stage performance for the group. The tour then returns via Newtown up Oxford Street and back to our starting point.

Regular weekly Tours depart 5pm outside the Oxford Hotel, Taylor Square, cnr Bourke and Oxford Streets, Darlinghurst every Sunday. Also tours run every Friday in Summer (Oct – Feb)

Retail costs are:

FIRST CLASS: AU$85- and ECONOMY: AU$65- (incl GST) valid until 30 March 2006.
Bookings can be made on 02 9360 5557 or by e-mail: reservations@sydneybydiva.com
