Real Estate Matters Making It In Wellington

29 August 2005: -Two leading Wellington property professionals have teamed up to ensure that in the country’s Capital, real estate matters!

Top local agent Catherine Kennedy, who joined Harveys last year, and longstanding Wellington realtor James Quinn have set up Real Estate Matters Ltd and have acquired the franchise of the Harveys Real Estate offices in Miramar and Wellington Central. Joining them in the new venture is Paul Dunning, previously General Manager of APN Print in Wellington.

The offices will trade as Harveys Wellington Central and Harveys Miramar, with James Quinn manager at Miramar and Catherine Kennedy in charge of the Central office based in Kent Terrace.

Catherine, principal of new operation, says the trio is confident they can grow both branches and are excited to join the Harveys Group. “ After looking at all the options Harveys stood out and we were particularly impressed by their integrity and how they empower their people,” she says. “ They have a great culture and are big enough to provide real traction in the market, but still small enough to care.

“We believe it is the best decision we could have made,”
Harveys Wellington Regional Manager, Graeme Fraser, who facilitated the acquisition, says Catherine and James are both “ highly experienced industry professionals with proven prior success. We know the two branches will be in very good hands.” The existing sales and support staff in both offices have been retained.

Mr Fraser confirmed Harveys is endeavouring to find owners for its two other Wellington offices in Karori and Khandallah, and also expand into the Johnsonville/Parramatta area and across into the Wairarapa.

“We’ve established a strong foothold in the region with five offices along the Kapiti Coast, one in the Hutt Valley and four in Wellington. Our goal is to be the most effective real estate franchise in New Zealand, and we see further places for growth in the greater Wellington region.”
