Manufacturers Call for Kyoto Review
Call for Kyoto Review
Now that Britain has announced that the Kyoto Protocol is unworkable and has said ‘No country is going to cut its growth’, New Zealand has to reconsider its position”, says Alasdair Thompson, Chief Executive of the Employers & Manufacturers Association (Northern).
“Prime Minister Blair now says, ‘What countries will do is work together to develop the science and technology to meet the challenge of global warming’.
“That’s exactly the course our major trading partners,
Australia, the US and China, have said they will take, as
ratifying the Kyoto Protocol won’t solve the problem”,
concluded Mr Thompson.
