Summer ferry bookings going fast
Travellers wanting to go across the Cook Strait
on the Interislander ferries during peak periods for
Christmas and summer are being advised to book early.
A number of sailings are already fully booked and to avoid disappointment people are being urged to finalise their travel as soon as possible.
Interislander have been working hard to drive more overseas tourists to come and enjoy what is now looked upon as a true icon experience in New Zealand and their work is starting to pay dividends.
Nearly half the passengers now travelling on Interislander are overseas tourists.
Sales Manager Julie Robertson says, “ Working alongside Positively Wellington Tourism, we have made a huge play for the Australian market and are delighted with the feedback to date.
“This is the first time in a number of years that Interislander has worked so aggressively to attract tourists from overseas to New Zealand, but we know we have a great product so it has been an easy sell in many respects says Ms Robertson.
Also from today, Monday October 31 the 18.15pm sailing of the Arahura out of Wellington is to resume in time for the busy summer season.
