20-1 for World Cup...ABs odds on for Grand Slam
New Zealand is 21.00 with Australian bookmaker Centrebet to host the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
Centrebet says that the Kiwi bid is a relative no-hoper against those of South Africa (1.72) and Japan (2.00) ahead of the International Rugby Board's decision in Dublin on November 17.
"Jock Hobbs is talking a good game but the
arguments for supporting South Africa or Japan are much more
compelling than those for endorsing New Zealand," says
Centrebet's Gerard Daffy.
Centrebet does think that Kiwi rugby fans will have cause for celebrations this month, though. New Zealand is 1.65 to complete a Grand Slam against Wales, Ireland, England and Scotland.
"The All Blacks will not be longer than 1.25 for any of its British Isles matches," says Daffy.
Graham Henry's team is 1.16 to beat the Six Nations Championship winner on Saturday.
