Statement from Susan Wood’s Lawyer
Statement from Susan Wood’s Lawyer
I am authorised to make this statement by Susan Wood my client.
I was surprised to see the statements made by TVNZ’s spokesperson Avon Adams to the NZPA that “Susan Wood has settled her differences amicably with TVNZ” and her indication to the journalist that Ms Wood would be accepting a salary cut.
“No such proposal has been put to me in my negotiations on Susan Wood’s behalf with TVNZ’s lawyers.”
“We are still in the process of raising with TVNZ’s lawyers what the company is going to do to restore the relationship of confidence and trust with their employee Susan Wood given their actions to date.”
“After conversations this morning I was told that TVNZ’s lawyers have been busy this afternoon but I am flying to Auckland tomorrow to try and get these concerns about restoring the relationship addressed.”
“Susan Wood welcomes the media statement from TVNZ this afternoon about its regret that the issues raised in the Employment Relations Authority could not be sorted out privately. We look forward to TVNZ giving the resolution of its outstanding issues with Susan Wood priority, as stated in its media release attached.”
