No-One Rates NZ's 2011 Bid Except Kiwi Punters
SYDNEY, Nov. 16 /MediaNet International-AsiaNet/ --
Centrebet says that only Kiwis are betting on New Zealand hosting the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
Kiwi punters have placed more than 95 percent of the bets on New Zealand staging the event.
In spite of Kiwi betting support, New Zealand is Centrebet's outsider to win tomorrow's vote.
Centrebet's non-Kiwi gamblers are backing Japan (1.40) to beat South Africa (3.00) and New Zealand (13.00) when International Rugby Board officials count the ballot papers in Dublin.
"Kiwi punters are a patriotic bunch, I'll give them that, but I can't help thinking that they're backing a losing rugby union team for the first time in ages," says Centrebet's Gerard Daffy.
