Burglary Attempt Foiled By Security Firm Friday
A Bay of Plenty business owner is pleased with the actions of a local security firm and police for their part in preventing a burglary, the New Zealand Security Officers Association reported today.
Prowler Security responded to an alarm at a Te Puke chemist at 4:21 AM to find two intruders on the roof trying to gain access into the premises through a skylight.
The suspects fled the scene through a back entrance and over a side fence into an adjacent property.
Police dog handlers arrived on the scene shortly after but were unable to apprehend the suspects.
The owner of the chemist was reported to have been pleased with the quick response which prevented further criminal activity from taking place.
