5 December 2005

Three Million Dollars Worth Of Diamonds Unveiled At Hartfield Today.

Italian jewellery heiress, Eugenia Bruni presents the highlights of the latest Collections from the maestro, Pasquale Bruni (4-8 December)

The house of Pasquale Bruni is acclaimed internationally for creating dreams from jewellery for the likes of Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and Hollywood's elite with a small but discerning group of New Zealanders also part of this very special customer base.

They are described by Eugenia Bruni, the 28 year old creative director and daughter of the founder of the renowned Milan based jeweller, as those who know "you should change your jewellery as frequently in a day as you change your clothes."

Miss Bruni is in New Zealand to launch the latest collections at Hartfield Jewellers, the sole Australasian retailer of the Pasquale Bruni collection. She will be showcasing $3 million of diamond jewellery at an invitation only cocktail party to be attended by the Italian Ambassador Liana Marolla. Miss Bruni will spend the remainder of this week in Hartfield meeting valued customers and explaining the intricate details and innovative thinking behind the newest pieces.

Renowned for their artistic interpretation of precious metals and stones, the house of Pasquale Bruni is as far from the look of the big solitaire diamond as it is possible to get in the jewellery world with intricate designs taken from nature and interpreted as earrings, rings, pendants and bracelets.

In preparation for her visit, she admits she's been told New Zealand women are renowned for their reluctance to display their jewellery in any conspicuous way which is in direct contrast to their European cousins whom she says "consider it a sign of self confidence and maturity to adorn themselves with beautiful jewellery."

Miss Bruni sits in the front row of the international jewellery fashion pack and has strong opinions on future jewellery trends and the rise in the number of women buying so called right hand jewellery. It's currently sitting at around 15% of the market and is projected to rise significantly in the next few years.

Owner of Hartfield Jewellers, Margaret Foley says the opportunity to have the creator of the collection explain its emotion and meaning is of special significance to those who love the craftsmanship of fine pieces.

"It's also a chance to see some of the world's most stunning jewellery worn by someone who has the attitude and style of the dolce vita!"
