New Zealanders are active users of online as an entertainment medium. Overall, just under 30% of regular internet users have listened to music online in the last four weeks, according to Nielsen//NetRatings Netwatch in Q3 2005. This proportion is even higher for the younger age demographics – 50% of regular internet users aged 10 – 19 have listened to music online, and 42% of those aged 20 – 29 have also done so.
