Business NZ brief to Government
Business NZ has recommended a list of 'initial policy outcomes' in its briefing to the Government.
Business NZ Chief Executive Phil O'Reilly has written to the Prime Minister and Ministers with business-related portfolios, suggesting actions that could be taken in the areas of skills, compliance, infrastructure, labour and economic policy.
"Rather than providing a paper arguing for a certain policy framework, it seemed more sensible to provide a list of actions would make up a useful 'first step' towards growth and that were more likely to be supported by a majority in Parliament," Mr O'Reilly said.
"These 'initial policy outcomes' are not the totality of what business needs, but they are a practical list that a centrist Government could reasonably consider.
"We will be advancing these items in our representations to Government early in this Parliamentary term."
