Waipareira Trust To Move Forward
Te Whanau – Te Mea Nui O Te Ao Waipareira Trust To Move Forward
The Board of Waipareira Trust are heartened by the words of Justice Heath in the High Court in Auckland yesterday encouraging the Trustees to put aside their differences and work together, with goodwill, for the benefit of all beneficiaries.
Evelyn Taumaunu, Chairperson for the Trust, said in relation to the litigation instigated by John Tamihere and others, that the Trust had no option but to defend the interim injunction proceeding.
“The Trust Board tried its hardest to resolve the issues concerning the November AGM and election of Trustees out of the courts, but without success. It is important for the organisation to take stock of the consequences of the High Court decision and to get our wharenui in order. The Board is committed to meeting with the plaintiffs to put this behind us and move forward into 2006.”
“We want to focus our efforts on continuing to deliver the important health and other social services in the best interests of the Whanau of Waipareira. Hopefully we can now work together to get on and do that.”
