OceanaGold today announced that Mr Patrick O’Connor has resigned as a director of Oceana Gold Limited. The Board takes this opportunity to thank Mr O’Connor for his valued contribution to the Company as both a director and an executive. Mr O’Connor has been a Board member since December 2003, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Company from its incorporation until 17 August 2004. Prior to this, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Oceana Gold New Zealand Limited (“OGNZL”) between 1989 and 1998.
The Board of OceanaGold is pleased to announce that Mr Cliff Lawrenson has accepted an invitation to join the Board, effective immediately. Mr Lawrenson is Managing Director of Global Renewables, a leading waste treatment company with an operating facility in Sydney and a preferred position to construct and operate similar facilities in Melbourne and Lancashire, United Kingdom. Mr. Lawrenson has responsibility for all development activities within the GRD Group of companies and manages GRD’s portfolio of investments, including OceanaGold. -
