Rip It Up – New Editor, New Issue….

7th February 2006

Rip It Up – New Editor, New Issue….

A three-day weekend and a brand new issue of Rip It Up, it doesn’t get much better than that.

The February/March issue of Rip It Up is out now and features exhaustive coverage of the Big Day Out; yep we review every single band. We’ve got an exclusive interview with cover star The Edge in anticipation of the U2 show coming to town. We also talk to alternative legend J Mascis of Dinosaur Jnr, My Chemical Romance, Talib Kweli and actor Joaquin Phoenix about his award winning performance as the Man In Black, Johnny Cash. Plus Babyshambles, Top Ten albums for the Kiwi summer barbie, news, album reviews, games, movies and much more.

But that’s not all….

We’ve got a new Editor, for those of you who haven’t met him, we introduce Karl Puschmann.

Karl has returned to our shores from a stint in the UK writing for music titles and gorging himself on festivals. He kicked off his local writing career at the Listener and now we’re delighted to have him at the helm of Rip It Up.

Over to Karl…. “After years of nagging, hanging about, and generally being a nuisance Rip It Up has finally relented and let me in the building.
I’ve been reading Rip It Up for as long as I can remember so it’s awesome to now be working here, especially as the mag is largely responsible for my initial decision to become a journalist.
It’s a real exciting time at Rip It Up right now as there’s some cool plans for this year so it’s great to be involved.”
