Dick Smith Electronics hits Te Rapa
Dick Smith Electronics is expanding into Hamilton’s rapidly growing Te Rapa area.
A new store opens this week at The Base shopping centre, on the site of the old Air Force base.
Dick Smith Electronics New Zealand general manager Stu Meadows said that growth in Te Rapa had been phenomenal.
“It’s big and it’s still growing,” he said.
“Te Rapa and the northern side of Hamilton is the fastest growing area in the region, and we are very excited to be part of it.”
The new 420 square metre-store will stock a full range of consumer electronics, and will employ nine people.
Mr Meadows said that the Te Rapa store would complement the existing central city store in Barton St, and the recently expanded Dick Smith Electronics PowerHouse in Thackeray St.
The Te Rapa store will have an official gala opening this weekend (March 10 and 11), with extensive opening specials.
