Silent One All Class At Christchurch Boys High School

Christchurch Boys High School has become the latest organisation to purchase Wellington based software company, Silent One Ltd's document management solution. Having been founded in 1881, the all-boys state school has 1390 students and is one of New Zealand most prestigious schools, so the organisation has a lot of historical and recent information they need to keep track of.

The implementation is of Silent One’s new cross-platform electronic document management solution called SilentOneJE (Java Edition) designed to help such organisations.

SilentOne Chief Executive, Peter Yarrall says “having the high school on board is an exciting development for us. Over the last three years we have been focused on developing this product, so to see it being implemented is a further milestone for us.”

“We have always seen the need for a product to suit the Netware, Linux and Unix environments where our established Microsoft Windows-based solution wasn’t an ideal fit. This is the third implementation of the new Java solution which is great achievement by the Silent One team” said Mr Yarrall.

Christchurch Boys High chose SilentOneJE based on its ideal fit for the school’s infrastructure, the adaptive pricing model for education institutes and because of Silent One’s outstanding support.

“We were impressed by the speed, co-operation and efficiency of the Silent One team. No other viable option offered such support and flexibility.” said IT Coordinator, Hugh Dacre.

SilentOneJE provides the ability to have a managed repository of electronic and paper documents, with full version control, rich metadata, document-level security, workflow and lifecycle management.

The SilentOne software integrates with Microsoft Office, enabling users to create, share and manage documents from within Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook or GroupWise. The design of the product provides for easy integration with third party applications via an API or SOAP. Full web access is also provided.
