Matisse International opens Armani/Casa store

Immediate Release
22 March 2006

FROM MILAN WITH STYLE - Matisse International opens Armani/Casa store

As New Zealand’s leading furniture design company, Matisse International is renowned for creating inspirational places to live and work and, in keeping with this philosophy, Matisse is the new home of Armani/Casa.

It is a major coup for the twenty year old company which is considered to be the leading supplier of furniture, kitchens and bathrooms at the quality and long term value end of the New Zealand interiors market.

Recognition of Matisse’s market dominance by Giorgio Armani, who approved their involvement personally, is the ultimate compliment for Alan and Jeanne Bertenshaw whose vast knowledge of international furniture has been gleaned from more than thirty years in the design business.

Now in 2006 they are enormously proud to announce the introduction of Armani/Casa, a showcase collection for Giorgio Armani’s “Ideal for Living”, his dream of the perfect environment inside the home.

The Bertenshaws are well aware of what a major opportunity awaits them with the vast range of product that is part of the collection. As well as bedroom, living and dining settings, there are homewares including linens, ceramics and even cutlery.

An Armani/Casa concept store has been built at the Matisse International showroom in Auckland to present the collection in the same manner that it is seen all over the world.

Creating a taste of Milan in the southern hemisphere is not without its challenges but the Bertenshaws believe profiling Armani/Casa in the manner it is meant to be seen is part of the special quality of the collection.

“We are really excited about the detail and the commitment to quality in every item and can’t wait to share that with our customers,” said Alan.

Matisse now represents the world’s top manufacturers with brands such as B&B Italia, Maxalto, Herman Miller, Arclinea kitchens, Axor Citterio tapware, Agape bathrooms and many others.

All products must pass their stringent selection process based on the Matisse quality triangle ensuring they only deal with the world’s best factories, best raw materials and best design.

Factories are scrutinised not only for their best in class manufacturing practices but also their commitment to the environment and raw material innovation through working with the world’s leading product designers.

As well as the Auckland store, Matisse has two other showrooms presenting their home furniture and accessories, kitchens, bathrooms and office furniture in Wellington and Christchurch. A select range of items from the Armani/Casa collection will be available at these stores.
