New appointment for Bayer CropScience
Bayer
CropScience, New Zealand, has appointed Dr Han Eerens to a
newly created position of Product Development Manager,
covering the northern half of the North Island from his
location in Hamilton, near Ruakura.
His role includes conducting trials on a range of crops, developing new products and uses, and providing technical advice to service industries and growers.
Originally from the Netherlands, Dr Eerens brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experiences having completed his M Agr Sc in 1985 at Wageningen University in the Netherlands, majoring in plant breeding and nematology, which included a stint with CSIRO on tropical crops and forages in Queensland, Australia.
He completed his PhD in 1996 from Lincoln University working on ryegrass endophyte.
He comes to Bayer CropScience from AgResearch, Ruakura, where he has been working as a scientist for 17 years. During that time he worked in areas as diverse as pasture weed management, weed ecology, herbicide trials, clover root weevil control, ryegrass plant breeding and information transfer to growers.
