The team behind
New Zealand Bartender magazine and Sydney & Melbourne
BarShows are proud to announce NZ's first full-scale
tradeshow dedicated to the business of bars with the launch
of the Auckland BarShow on 22 & 23 August, 2006. This
premium annual event for the bar and hospitality industry
will be held at the picturesque Alinghi Base at Auckland's
Viaduct Harbour, attracting industry professionals from
around the country.
Auckland BarShow 2006 will play host to a wide array of exhibitors representing all areas of the industry, from sound and lighting companies to interior designers and drink distributors. The two day event allows bar professionals to meet existing and potential suppliers in a premier harbourside location. BarShow also offers attendees the opportunity to sample new products from leading brands and meet industry innovators from around the country.
Auckland BarShow 2006 will also feature three dedicated demonstration areas, 'bar talks', 'bar tastings' and 'bar mixology', showcasing an even broader range of subjects, presented by some of the world's leading authorities in bar culture. New Zealand Bartender magazine is flying in numerous international guests including the UK's drinks Encyclopaedia, Mr Angus Winchester, three-time Australian Bartender Magazine Bartender of the Year Marco Faraone and Theme magazine UK Bar Manager of the Year Grant Collins, as well as local personalities such as 42 Below's Vodka Professor, Jacob Briars (see bios below). A full listing of talks, tastings and mixology seminars will be released closer to the show.
The inaugural New Zealand bar awards will be the official after-show networking function on the first night of the show (22 Aug). This gala sit-down dinner event held at Alinghi Base will acknowledge outstanding achievements from around the country in 10 categories including Bartender of the Year, Cocktail Bar of the Year, Nightclub of the Year, Cocktail List of the Year and New Bar of the Year. The winners will be determined by votes from both the trade and industry experts.
