Long time subscriber gets thanks
NZ Outdoor Magazine has
presented a “Loyal Subscriber” plaque their longest running
subscriber.
The Reichenbach Family have been subscribers since printing fist began1937, Thomas’s father bought the first magazine when it was hot off the press and was hooked from then on. Thomas took over his father’s subscription in the early 80’s and has kept it running ever since.
Thomas has brought up his children to also be passionate about the sport of hunting and hopes that that the tradition will continue to his grandchildren.
“It’s great when the younger generation are encouraged to get out and enjoy our beautiful native bush, instead of playing computer games, it’s passionate hunters like Thomas that helps to keep our wonderful sport alive” said NZ Outdoor Editor, Martin Askes.
Thomas pretty much started hunting when he could walk and is still an active hunter and gets out there as much as possible, especially when duck shooting season starts (May 6th).
When asked if he still keeps his magazines, he sadly answered “No, the wife said they were taking up valuable space in the garage, so I took them to a few backcountry huts, and a German guy I met up with took a bundle back to Germany with him.”
Thanks to subscribers like Thomas and his father, NZ outdoor Magazine can keep hunters up to date with the latest hunting news, inspire hunters by printing hunting yarns told by real hunters doing the real thing and to also encourage young outdoor enthusiasts to get out there and enjoy the amazing New Zealand bush and the experiences that it has to offer.
