Voluntary Product Recall Alert

Castrol New Zealand is alerting its customers and motorists today that it is conducting a voluntary product recall of a lubricant packaged in a four litre DARK GREY bottle and incorrectly labelled as Castrol Response Dot 4 (brake fluid).

The correctly labelled product for Castrol Response Dot 4 (four litre) is a RED bottle. This correctly labelled product is not being recalled.

Castrol is in the process of notifying all of its customers who have purchased the product to inform them of the voluntary product recall.

If a customer has purchased the incorrectly labelled product they are advised not to use it and to immediately contact Castrol.

Using the incorrect product will result in detrimental performance of the vehicle’s/motorcycle’s braking system.

A dedicated customer service centre has been established to answer any questions from customers who believe they have purchased the incorrectly labelled product. All queries and concerns should be immediately directed to the Castrol Customer Service phone line on 0800 800 197.

Castrol sincerely regrets this error and is conducting an investigation to determine the extent to which this product has been incorrectly labelled, the cause of the error and to ensure that it is not repeated.

No other Castrol products are affected.
