SoSki luxury ski services arrive at Sofitel Queenstown

Extending their intuitive approach to guest services, Sofitel Queenstown will launch a luxury winter season programme on 1 July 2006, for ski and snowboarding guests.

The new SoSki programme will be run by a dedicated Ski Concierge who will assist with all things ‘ski and snow’. Unique services include ski and board boot fitting while supping on a warming glass of Central Otago pinot, all equipment hire, lift passes and door-to-slope transfers.

SoSki further complements the winter sports experience with a fully escorted Premium Ski Day service with Sofitel’s “boutique ski experience” hosts providing an all inclusive service from personalised and fully escorted transport with VIP parking, flexible pickup times, a full or half day with one of New Zealand’s top ski instructors, assistance with equipment and ‘tailor made’ Ski Days to accommodate everyone from complete beginners to heli-ski fans and powder lovers.

During the 2006 winter season a ‘SoSki Après Hour’ for house guests will be held every evening in the cosy comfort of Nue Lounge, between 6pm and 7pm.

The Après Hour will feature complimentary mulled wine and canapés as guests enjoy an alternating programme of head and shoulders massage, the opportunity to meet and talk about “all things ski” with the Ski Concierge and Sofitel’s boutique ski experience hosts, Central Otago region wine tasting, live music from Oliver Coutts and the extra special happy hour ‘Salute to Sophie’.

Making the very best use of latest technology, ski conditions and weather reports will be available to guests via cell phone text messaging, an in-room ‘Snowfone’ hot button and on guest room televisions. Should guests wish to take a quick peek at which of the region’s great snowfields they should visit, the guest computer in Nue Lounge offers 24/7 access to skifield webcams and snow alerts.

Special Sofitel touches such as SoSki handwarmers with the evening turndown service highlight the spirit of generosity that is Sofitel. To give guests and passersby a warm winter glow, the five-star property will be lit up for winter with more than three-and-a-half thousand fairy lights adorning the hotel.
