Brent King Resigns From Charlie’s Board
Viking Capital Limited Chairman and Managing Director, Brent King, today confirmed his resignation from the board of Charlie’s, the juice company.
King tendered his resignation to the Charlie’s Board last Friday, 21 July, 2006. It was accepted at today’s Board meeting, which he was unable to attend. He has no knowledge of the circumstances leading to Mr Gower’s resignation today.
“My commitments to Viking Capital will dominate my business life as I look ahead. Under these circumstances, I am no longer able to sustain my board obligations to Charlie’s,” King said.
King joined the Charlie’s board as an investment banker following his involvement in the takeover via Spectrum Resources, of which he was Chairman of Directors.
“It was always my intention as a Charlie’s director to act as a business leader and shareholder advocate. I feel confident that Charlie’s is now in good shape to deliver for the shareholders. The company is stable, has a great brand and good management” King said.
