InternetNZ (The Internet Society of New Zealand) is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Wood as its new Communication and Research Officer, effective September. Richard will join InternetNZ in its mission "to promote and protect the Internet in New Zealand”.
This is a new position, created as InternetNZ becomes increasingly active in the communications and regulatory environment.
“It is an exciting time for New Zealand’s information society and we want to see the Internet’s continued development,” says InternetNZ Executive Director, Keith Davidson.
InternetNZ has worked on a range of new projects over the past year. These included a submission to the Government's Telecommunications Stocktake.
Richard brings a wealth of knowledge to the Society with a long history of involvement in the IT and telecommunications industries. He has worked in IT roles and been editor of eight ICT-related publications in New Zealand and Australia, including most recently being editor and lead journalist for the /Telecommunications Review /and /The Line./
InternetNZ is thrilled to have Richard on board, and looks forward to ongoing improvements in communications and policy advocacy as a result of Richard’s engagement.
