Professional
fashion forecasting seminars to be held
at premier trade
expo – ‘fashionsource’
Experienced fashion forecasters and marketing duo Jill Carrol from Colourwaves and Neil Henson from Australian business, Fashion Bytes will be presenting informative and interesting seminars on marketing and forecasting designs, trends and colours for the coming seasons at ‘fashionsource’, September 18 & 19, 2006.
Both Neil and Jill have been involved in forecasting business for at least 25 and 10 years, respectively, and have presented workshops in Australia and New Zealand. Neil Henson has most recently been involved in presenting successful seminars for ‘Resenes’ on the innovative concept of 5D marketing (using the five senses). A good example of this concept is Nike’s latest marketing campaign encompassing infusing their shoes with attractive smells, therefore drawing customers in with this primal approach.
“I have been in fashion for last 25 years and in that time I have worked in colour, forecasting and colour management,” said Henson. “As a contented continuing supporter of ‘fashionsource’ I am delighted to be involved again. I believe the level of creativity in New Zealand is amazing, and that is very true of the fashion industry there. I really enjoy and admire how people in New Zealand genuinely love and show interest in fashion. I believe that this year’s ‘fashionsource’ is set to be a very successful, informative and superbly entertaining couple of days and I look very forward to being part of it, if not in body but through my colleague Jill Carrol who will be presenting my seminars on my behalf.”
These seminars are just one of the many varied and inspiring components to ‘fashionsource’ held over two days at the Ellerslie Convention Centre, Auckland. Steve Brown from Display Arts will also be demonstrating his exciting tips on how to create colourful and functional window frontages for retail fashion businesses.
‘fashionsource’ itself is a premier trade only show that is more than the glitz and glamour of the fashion industry, it is an essential business tool designed to put upcoming ranges directly in front of buyers from the Pacific Region.
A joint venture between Apparel magazine and the Composite Retail Group the goal of this trade expo is to attract key buyers from throughout Asia-Pacific region and direct them to designers, wholesalers and manufacturers.
Both organising parties have had long experience in the fashion industry and are recognised as knowledgeable partners. They both see ‘fashionsource’ as a major seasonal networking opportunity for suppliers and retailers across all apparel categories including womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, accessories, footwear, intimate apparel, millinery and so much more!
Buyers and exhibitors will have the opportunity to attend seminars on financial investments, design strategies, exciting fashion and trend forecasting and so much more. Plus there will be combined runway shows of the latest ranges throughout the two-day event.
Other drawcards to look forward to at ‘fashionsource’, will be the 1960s themed gala dinner for fashion industry on the Monday opening night. This promises to be a great ‘kick-up-your-heels’ celebration with a stunning student fashion parade and other ‘secret’ entertainment throughout the course of the dinner.
