INDEPENDENT FINANCIAL REVIEW BECOMING A ‘MUST READ’
The first independent readership figures for the relaunched business weekly, The Independent Financial Review, shows it is being regarded as a serious commentator on New Zealand and Trans-Tasman business affairs.
The latest Nielsen Media Research findings for the six month period ending June 2006 places average readership for the new IFR for all people 10yrs+ at 30,000.
The last time readership figures for the publication were released through Nielsen’s, for the year ending December 2000, the former Independent reported a readership figure of 23,000, 10yrs+.
This latest result is a tribute to the depth and quality of the work of the IFR’s editorial team, and the all-round improvements made in terms of graphics and layout.
Bernard Hickey, Head of Business Publishing, says “This level of readership far exceeds our early expectations for the IFR, and shows that within the business community there is a desire for balanced, in-depth analysis and probing, of what lies behind the top line details covered by other media– and that we’re meeting this need.”
“The IFR is rapidly establishing itself as a ‘must read’ for those who want an independent viewpoint of key business issues,” says Mr Hickey.
