Postie Plus Group Orders SAP for Retail

20 SEPTEMBER 2006.

Postie Plus Group Orders SAP for Retail

Postie Plus Group Ltd has ordered a world-class SAP software platform as part of the company’s streamlining and integration of business systems across the group’s three retail chains Postie+, Arbuckles and Baby City.

“This acquisition flows from the 2005 decision to review our existing systems and evaluate various solution providers with the objective of putting in place a superior business reporting platform capable of handling our strong growth in merchandising,” said Mr Ron Boskell, chief executive of Postie Plus Group Ltd.

“As a nationwide 116 store fashion, homeware and baby products organisation with annual sales now exceeding $120m a year we wanted to improve the back-end level of support for group merchandising and supply chain operations.”

“Stock control is a vital factor for all retailers in fast changing markets. Bringing our operations onto a common system will enhance our inventory management systems and assist us in sales forecasting.”

“A competitive appraisal of several outstanding systems led to selection of the novaRetail system from CIBER Novasoft leveraging ‘mySAP ERP’ as the best fit for our needs and providing streamlined realtime reporting across our retail spectrum.

“The upgrade is already underway at Christchurch and will deliver a best practice financials platform in time for the Christmas-New Year retail season,” said Mr Boskell. “This will be followed by SAP for Retail deployment with Warehouse Management and SAP Business Warehouse in the first half of calendar 2007.”
