Coromandel Discovery

Press Release 27 September 2006

Coromandel Discovery

Magic Travellers Network, New Zealand’s leading backpacker and independent transport provider is proud to announce the launch of an exciting method of travel and new destination to compliment its current nationwide network.

Working in close association with 360 Discovery, Magic has extended its travel network to allow travellers to experience a unique ferry journey from Auckland to Coromandel Town, with an optional Waiheke Island stopover.

The passenger’s journey begins with an early morning departure from Auckland for an enjoyable two hour boat cruise on the sparkling Waitemata Harbour and Hauraki Gulf, into the Firth of Thames and Coromandel region. Passing Rangitoto, Motuihe, Ponui and Waiheke Islands en-route, there can’t be a better way to experience New Zealand, than over the ocean and past the beaches, islands and bays which New Zealand is famous for.

The new route can be purchased as a stand-alone ‘Coromandel Discovery’ Auckland to Auckland, two-night/three-day journey, with overnight stops in Coromandel Town and Whitianga. Options to stopover in Waiheke Island on the way and visit Waitomo on the return to Auckland are also available. The ferry journey can also be combined into any one of Magic’s national passes that depart Auckland. This industry first means Magic’s passengers can begin their New Zealand journey by leaving Auckland by ferry.

Passes are available as transport only, transport and accommodation, or with local activities such as Driving Creek Railway and Gold Stamper Battery. The Coromandel Discovery transport pass starts from$135pp. The 360 Discovery ferry departs Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. A new DLE size brochure has been produced to support this unique product and is now available.

Do more with Magic.
