Performance – September 2006
Realestate.co.nz surges to
number one dedicated real estate website
Just seven weeks after launching, realestate.co.nz has become New Zealand’s most popular dedicated property listing website.
The latest statistics from Nielsen//Netratings show that realestate.co.nz received over 221,000 unique browsers in September, up 31% on August. Realestate.co.nz re-launched on August 21, having previously been run as RealENZ. Other key statistics for realestate.co.nz in September include:
-
Nearly 12 million page impressions
- Each browser spent
on average over 12 minutes on the site
- 10th most viewed
website by New Zealanders
- Number two ranked website
featuring real estate listings overall
- Over 76,000
property listings
Alistair Helm, Chief Executive Officer, Realestate.co.nz Ltd, says the speed with which the site has been able to regain its top position is particularly pleasing, especially given the aggressive nature of the market.
“To be able to move straight into the number one position for dedicated real estate websites after our first full month indicates the strength and potential of our proposition.
“When we launched the new brand and website we made some pretty clear statements about our intentions. Through the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand the industry is committed to protecting its position in the online property listing market, as it believes it can provide a valuable tool for real estate sales people, their clients and the public.
“Our media-owned competitors understand the potential of the online marketplace for property listings, and the impact it is already having on their print revenues. We’ve always had the advantage of content, with around three times as many listings as our nearest competitor, and now with the site looking and working great we’re in a strong position to continue to attract more people.”
