Jeremy Baker to lead ITF Secretariat

Jeremy Baker has been appointed Executive Director of the Industry Training Federation as of 16th of October.
“The ITF is very pleased to announce Jeremy Baker as our new Executive Director”, said John Meeuwsen Chair of the Industry Training Federation.
“He understands the issues at the interface of education policy and industry needs. Jeremy Baker will help the Industry Training system develop its ability to meet the ever changing skill needs of industry.
Jeremy has been involved in tertiary education issues since the early 90s, beginning as a national student representative. He has worked in both the public and private sectors, including running his own educational policy and research firm. He was Senior Adviser to the Tertiary Education Advisory Commission the precursor of the Tertiary Education Commission. Jeremy worked for Business New Zealand as their Adviser Education and Training for four years, and more recently has been Manager of Employment and Skills Policy for the Department of Labour.
“The ITF is pleased to have the right person, with the right background, at the right time, to lead the ITF secretariat”, said John Meeuwsen.
