Harveys Real Estate Hits Great Barrier Island

Auckland, 20 November 2006 – Well known Great Barrier identity and successful real estate personality, Geoff Lloyd, has joined forces with Harveys as a remote located salesperson on Great Barrier Island.

Harveys has the Gulf Islands covered with representation on Kawau, Waiheke and now Great Barrier.

Geoff, who joined Harveys last month, says it has been a very busy few weeks but he is looking forward to the new role. “I find it exciting matching people to property – changing lives in many instances. The Barrier has its own unique set of challenges and benefits for those that seek to live here,” he says. Geoff first ventured into the real estate business in 2004.

Just a 30 minute flight away from Auckland, Great Barrier is regarded by many as New Zealand’s best kept secret. Home to around 700 people, over 60% of the island is a conservation estate with rich flora and fauna, white sandy beaches and more than 100km of walking tracks to explore.

Also part of the new Harveys Great Barrier team is Geoff’s wife Jenny, who assists in the office, with backup from Lex Bacon at Harveys Omokoroa. “Being part of a positive, friendly team like Harveys is an essential element of the job, and a springboard to successful selling,” Geoff says.

Geoff and his family first visited the Barrier in winter 1995 before moving permanently to the island in 1997. Prior to this they lived in Queenstown and in Fiji for a number of years. “What attracted us to the island was the sparkling blue and green waters around the Barrier, the white sandy beaches which we have to ourselves most of the year, and the generous, welcoming and funny people. We also enjoy the challenges of living on an island, being responsible for your own requirements,” says Geoff.

Harveys Real Estate has 60 offices and close to 750 staff across New Zealand.
