Improving Business Performance

A conference to improve business performance and to showcase business excellence opens in Wellington on Monday. It’s attracted over 350 delegates from 28 countries. It’s being held at the Duxton Hotel in Wakefield Street from Monday 4 December to Wednesday 8 December.

All sessions – including the welcome reception on Sunday evening - are open to news media, but reporters and photographers are asked to advise of their attendance (john@johnbishop.co.nz ) and to pick up a media tag from the registration desk on the ballroom level of the Duxton Hotel. Sessions that may be of particular interest are:

Tuesday 1.15pm Presentation by a NZ Business Excellence Award winner – Rear Admiral David Ledson of the Royal NZ Navy

Tuesday 4pm Corporate Social Responsibility – some experiences from the UK where CSR has been developed much further than in NZ – Lyndsey McKee and others

Wednesday 10am Transforming healthcare in NZ – Brian Dolan on the UK experience

Wednesday 10am A Personal Balanced Scorecard – Hubert Rampersand, who is a world expert in this area.

At the conference dinner on Tuesday evening, the NZ Business Excellence Foundation will present five awards to leading organisations. These were announced in October (contact listed below). The awards will go to:

• Hutt City Council and the Royal New Zealand Navy – Silver Awards
• Metso Minerals, City Care, and Kerridge & Partners – Bronze Awards
