Innovative retail experience launches in New Zealand

Wellington , 4th December 2006: A new retail experience for New Zealand women has just been launched that changes the face of shopping as we know it.

www.themallplus.com is a web based, virtual shopping mall, that allows users to move through a three dimensional space to browse and buy products, whilst enjoying the shopping experience you get from the real world.

The shopping mall is particularly useful for busy young mothers, time poor professionals, women in rural areas, and those who want to enjoy a real shopping experience without having to leave home. It is accessible with any broadband connection.

www.themallplus.com is the first project to emerge from parent company, The Street, based in Dunedinand overseen by Nigel Kirkpatrick, CEO. Mr Kirkpatrick has previous experience in start up companies both locally and globally, with Industrial Research Limited and Unilever.
“This represents the next generation of retail, through a virtual environment; it’s original, it’s exciting and it has amazing potential, both here in New Zealandand further a field. The 3D visualisation technology means women can now enjoy the experience of shopping at any time of day or night’ says Mr Kirkpatrick.
“It is convenient, safe, flexible but, most importantly, it is fun.”
A number of key New Zealandbrands are already present in the mall including Cocorico, Raspberry, Silvermoon, and Pharmacy Direct. Already host to over 30 retailers, www.themallplus.com will expand further in the New Year as more retailers come on board.
