Sealegs Receives Market Development Grant

Auckland, 11 December 2006: Sealegs International Limited has today announced that it has received a $100,000 Market Development grant from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise to assist in developing new international markets.

Sealegs International Limited has already successfully exported to the United Kingdom, France, the Middle East, Australia and the USA. Its success in each of these markets demonstrates the market potential of the product and the enterprise development grant from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise will accelerate the company’s future export strategies.

CEO David McKee Wright says “This grant further endorses both Sealegs and its potential as a New Zealand exporter. The demand for Sealegs is world wide and the capacity of the new production facility next year will warrant the appointment of new international resellers and partners.”

Earlier this month Sealegs announced demand for its unique amphibious craft was outstripping supply, with $3 million in forward orders, over 80% of those from international customers. Sealegs is moving to a new factory in March next year which will increase its production facilities by four times.

Sealegs was recently selected as a finalist in the New Zealand Emerging Exporter Awards.
